El Campamento esta situado a pocas horas de Santa Cruz, pasando el pueblo de Buena Vista. Ricamente bendecido por Dios con arboles, pasto y paisajes hermosas es un lugar refrescante para descansar. Es rustico pero cómodo y hay espacios para todo tipo de actividad.
Este lugar tuvo su principios cuando Esteban Gabler vio la necesidad de construir un lugar para uso de campamentos. en ese entonces no había uno disponible. La búsqueda para el terreno empeso y tras varios viajes de exploración decidieron por una plantación de mazorca/cacao y banana. El terreno fue comprado en 1979 y el primer campamento fue a principios de 1980. El lugar no tenia nada y todo tenia que ser construido para que sea usable para campamentos. Los primeros campamentos eran muy rusticos. Dormían en tiendas de campana, cocinaban sobre lena, usaban letrinas y el campo de basquetbol era de barro. Pero Dios los uso a pesar de las incomodidades. Poco por poco la infraestructura fue levantada. Baños, cabañas, galpón de reuniones, cocina, casas para los caceros y el misionero fueron levantado con la bendición de Dios y apoyo de gente de los Estados Unidos. Nuca hubo un exceso pero con creatividad se logro tener un campamento útil. Desde entonces ha provisto un lugar para retiros, campamentos y descanso para muchos. En 2010 viendo la necesidad de hacer refacciones y mejorar la infraestructura y sintiendo que Dios le estaba guiando, el Sr. Esteban Gabler regreso después de unos 25 anos para trabajar una vez mas en campamento por un periodo corto. Durante este tiempo el superviso la construcción de un nuevo baño para los hombres, una nueva cocina, renovación de el baño de las mujeres, extensión de la capilla, reconstrucción de un dormitorio con 8 cuartos y dos baños, establecimiento de aceras, un nuevo bodega/taller y un nuevo techo para la casa administrativa. GMI decidio apoyar un proyecto de administrador del campamento con la meta de ayudar al campamento llegar ha ser auto suficiente y así lograr que sea eficaz ahora y en el futuro, proveyendo un lugar donde Dios es glorificado y pregonado.
The camp is situated a couple of hours outside of Santa Cruz, just a little ways beyond the town of Buena Vista. Richly blessed by God with trees, vegitation and beautiful views it is a refreshing place rest. It is rustic but comfortable and there is space for all kinds of activities.
It began when Steve Gabler saw the need for the construction of a place to hold camps. At the time there was no availble place to hold them. The search for the right piece of property began and after varios exploration trips, it was decided that a former platation of cacao/choclete and banans was the right place. The land was bought in 1979 and the first camp was held in 1980. The place was primitive, there was nothing there that could be used by campers so the first camps were extremly rustic. They slept in old army tents, cooked over the open fire, used primitive latrines and played basquetbal on a mud court anmong other things. But God used the camp in spite of the lack of comfort. Little by littel the basic infrastructure went up. Bathrooms, cabins, meeting hall, kitchen, housing for the caretaker and missioneries were built with the blessing of God and help from people in the United States. There was never an excess of funds but with much creativity a useful camp was established. Since then it has provided a place for retreates, camps and rest for many. In 2010 a need was seen to make repairs and improvements in the infrastructure and feeling led by God, Steve Gabler agreed to return after some 25 years to work short term at the camp. During the 18 months that he was here y supervised the construccion of a new bathroom for the boys, a new kitchen, the remodeling of the women's bathroom, the extention of the meeting hall, the construction of a dormitory with 8 rooms and 2 bathrooms, the buildng of sidewalks, an new storgae/work shop and reroofing the administration building. GMI decided to support a project of a camp administrator with the goal of helping the camp reach self sufficiency and through this become efective now and in the future in providing a place where God is glorified and preached.
